Our Locations

General site information:

We pride ourselves on our leave no trace ethos and make sure that all of the sites we use see the benefit of this. We keep the woodland clean and tidy and avoid using anything for our sessions that could harm these environments in any way.

Clothing:

Our sessions will be going ahead as best we can, regardless of weather. As this is the case, we ask that everyone attending wears appropriate clothing, suitable for the weather on the day. Footwear is massively important also as we will be off road and most likely walking through lots of muddy and wet areas. Boots or wellies are recommended.

Toilets:

Please be aware some sites have toilet facilities and some do not. The ones that do, we may end up quite some distance away from these facilities as we go about the session. We carry with us; a hygiene bag with everything you or the kids might need for a ‘fresh air wee’ and operate a leave no trace policy.

Bellsquarry & Woodland Trust

Bellsquarry Woods is a Woodland Trust site based a stone’s throw away from the local Primary School. It is a beautiful urban woodland which is very well respected, used and maintained by the locals. Very popular with dog walkers, the woods features a fairy trail, orchard and various instalments put in place by both Bellsquarry Primary School and the Woodland Trust.

Our meeting point is the Bellsquarry Woods entrance on Calder Road. This is located just passed Bellsquarry Primary School, EH54 9AD. Continue passed the Primary School and you should see a swing park on your left and Bellsquarry Village Hall on your right as you approach. There is roadside parking next to the gate.

If you get lost, or are unsure, just give us a call.

Hilly Cow Wigwams

Hilly Cow Wigwams and Kids Gone Wild have teamed up to provide some fantastic woodland and bushcraft sessions with a rural twist. The site offers us a fantastic Pine Forest as well as a neat little Paddock to run our sessions in. (As long as Gary the Goat doesn’t mind!)
Hilly Cow Wigwams is clearly signposted, follow the directions for postcode EH27 8DQ and signage for Hilly Cow. Kids Gone Wild meeting spots/car park will be clearly signposted upon arrival to the farm.
This is a working farm, so there's lots of animals around and vast fields where you can see them grazing. As an added bonus, KGW provide Birthday parties with an overnight stay in the fantastic Wigwams. For more information on this, just contact us or Hilly Cow direct.

Woodland Trust

Kids Gone Wild have a great relationship with the Woodland Trust. We have a massive amount of support from them to continue doing what we’re doing in sites all over Livingston. We’re currently keeping it small with Bellsquarry but have some plans to expand to other Woodland Trust sites around West Lothian soon, watch this space!
